02 / Our approach
Selling a business is a significant decision. We approach it with direct communication, respect for your priorities, and a commitment to understanding what makes your company work.
We want to understand your goals, your business, and the transition that would work for you. A good partnership starts with an honest conversation.
Our intent is to take an active role in day-to-day leadership, working with the team and building on the knowledge already inside the company.
Respect what has made the business successful, invest in its people and capabilities, and make decisions with its long-term health in mind.
An entrepreneurial background.
An operator’s mindset.
Scott grew up around his family’s business, C. S. Wo & Sons, which his family has owned and operated in Hawaiʻi for more than 115 years. As a member of the fourth generation, he grew up watching multiple generations of his family lead and steward the company, giving him an early appreciation for the responsibility, patience, and long-term perspective that come with ownership.
That perspective stayed with him as he pursued ventures of his own. Scott founded a business focused on developing one of the first funding portals under Reg CF of the JOBS Act, and later worked with multigenerational European master artisans to bring their products, craftsmanship, and stories to customers in the United States.
Together, those experiences shaped the approach he brings to Herringbone Capital: to acquire one established business, lead it personally, and build on the foundation its owner and team have created over time.
